Ferrari has just opened a new test track. Measuring 1.9 km in length, the e-Vortex is located right next to the famous Fiorano, in Italy.
The track took four months to complete and, according to Ferrari, its main goal is to conduct “precise, repeatable testing.”
The e-Vortex features a main straight of 0.59 km, two banked turns, and tighter curves, with lanes ranging from 5.9 to 14.9 meters wide.
The track also includes special surfaces for NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) evaluation, comfort, and durability testing, as well as a 9,000-square-meter workshop.

According to Ferrari, the new track will allow the company to move testing activities from the road to the track. Besides reducing traffic in the area, the e-Vortex will also give the manufacturer even more privacy to test its new supercars.
The opening of the new track, says Ferrari, “represents a fundamental step in improving the functional testing of sports cars fresh off the production line.”
